Crystal Lake man arrested in Franklin Park for parole violation: Police

Damaging village property

Daniel Thomas, 61, of the 100 block of North Euclid Avenue, Oak Park, on April 20 was issued a local ordinance citation for damaging village property after crashing into a fire truck in the 7500 block of West Fullerton Avenue.

Criminal damage

The steering wheel was reported damaged May 9 on a 2018 Kia Optima parked in the 2600 block of 73rd Avenue.

The driver's side mirror was reported smashed April 30 on a vehicle parked in the 2500 block of 74th Avenue.

Doorbells and a window were reported damaged April 29 on the exterior of an apartment building in the 2600 block of 75th Court.

Theft

An Audi A4 was reported stolen May 9 from the 2800 block of 75th Avenue.

The catalytic converter was reported stolen May 9 from a Toyota Tacoma parked in the area of 73rd Court and Diversey Avenue.

Four rims and some wheel accessories were reported stolen May 7 from the 7200 block of Fullerton Avenue.

A Volkswagen was reported stolen May 6 from the 7400 block of Fullerton Avenue.

The catalytic converter was reported stolen May 5 from a 2009 Honda CRV parked in the 2500 block of 72nd Court.

A bicycle was reported stolen April 29 from the 7200 block of Grand Avenue.

Several cases of beer were reported stolen April 28 from Walgreens, 7200 North Ave.

Moving violation

Miguel Gama, 35, of the 2500 block of New England Avenue, Chicago, on May 5 was charged with driving on a suspended license and improper lane usage in the 8700 block of Grand Avenue.

DUI

Mario Felix Rivera, 37, of the 1400 block of 2nd Avenue, Maywood, on May 5 was charged with driving under the influence- drugs, improper lane usage and driving with suspended plates at the intersection of River Road and Belmont Avenue in River Grove.

Theft

Leonard Whitlock, 56, of the 5300 block of Potomac Avenue, Chicago, on May 8 was issued local ordinance citations for retail theft and reckless conduct after attempting to shoplift a bottle of Jose Cuervo tequila at Jewel-Osco, 10203 Grand Ave.

Andy Jonathan Ortega-Cruz, 24, of the 3100 block of Ersnt Street, Franklin Park, on May 6 was issued a local ordinance citation for retail theft for attempting to shoplift a 24-pack case of Michelob Ultra from from as store in the 10200 block of Grand Avenue.

Parole violation

Garland Benton, 42, of the 200 block of Main Street, Crystal Lake, on May 10 was arrested at the Franklin Park Community Center, 9560 W. Franklin Ave on a warrant for parole violation.
