Catalytic converter thefts in Dumfries

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after the theft of catalytic converters

Detectives are appealing for witnesses after the theft of catalytic converters from vehicles in Dumfries.

There were four thefts from commercial vans in the Brownrigg Loaning and Annan Road areas between 1.20am and 3.15am on Monday, 29 May, 2023.

Two men wearing dark clothing were seen walking from Lockerbie Road along Brownrigg Loaning and entered a carpark. One was wearing a rucksack.

Officers are appealing for witnesses and are keen to trace motorists who were in the area at the time. They are particularly keen to trace the driver of a small white van with black windows or stickers on the back.

Anyone with information or relevant dash cam or private CCTV of the area at the time is urge to contact police on 101 quoting reference 1741 of 29 May, 2023. Alternatively call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
